We have featured the Wakmann Regate a couple of times in the shop, although this is our first chrome cased variant. We love this watch and its unashamedly colourful aesthetic.
As discussed before, there's a lot of information to parse on the dial. The inner (black) tachymeter ring has a 15 minutes counter split into colourful 5 minute blocks (used to more helpfully measure the initial 15 minute countdown to a race). The crown at 10:30 rotates the inner chapter ring, which features days of the week in various bright colours, and is used by lining up the correct day to the 1st of the innermost white chapter date ring, thus making it easy to be able to quickly see what date will fall on which day for the entire month.
Beating inside is the Lemania 1341, a version of the Omega 1040 co-produced by Lemania and Omega, so the chronograph has both central chronograph seconds and minutes. This also means that when the stop watch is engaged, the chrono minute hand is always advancing, unlike on a standard chronograph where the minutes ‘ticks over’ 60 seconds at a time.
While this chrome version is slightly more subtle than the gold plated model, the watch still has tremendous wrist presence due to its generous 42mm size and vibrant aesthetic. We’ve paired it with a navy blue Molequin strap to match the dial.

Movement has been fully serviced and keeps accurate time. Chronograph function and quickset date work correctly. One year mechanical warranty included.

Overall condition:
Chrome case in good condition with honest wear, some loss of plate (particularly in the back) and a few obvious scratches, still with its original sunburst brushed finish. Polished steel case back. Original acrylic crystal in good condition, minor scratches visible under magnification. New pump pushers and winding crown installed (rotating ring crown is original). Clean and vibrant chapter rings. Dial is excellent, mostly damage free with a few scratches and marks (one by the centre shaft and one in the hour register). Original hour and minute hands are clean, with their original, patinated tritium lume. Chronograph hands have been replaced, with the chronograph T-end minute hand different from the original, which has an arrow-end.
