Miniature carriage clocks were usually highly decorated to match the typical lavish decoration of the boudoir, hence their propensity to be called "boudoir clocks".
This guilloché enamelled beauty is a great example. The enamel finishing is finely detailed, but the understated silver colour sets it apart from many of its brightly coloured contemporaries. The rectangular case sits on four silver bun feet, with a scrolling handle. The white enamel dial with Arabic numerals and gold dot minute markers and blued steel spade hands are superb. It's inscribed with the name of the jeweller, "Theodore B. Starr". The hinged silver back door opens to reveal the high end, 8-day Concord Watch Co. movement, which we have fully serviced. It works eagerly, keeping good time.
The clock measures approximately 42mm x 38mm x 18mm (not including handle).
