We have written about the iconic 6105-8110 before, the watch famously known as the "Captain Willard", nicknamed so because it was worn by the Martin Sheen character in Francis Coppola's 1979 film Apocalypse Now.
There's a lot to love about this piece even if you're not a film buff. The asymmetrical case with integrated crown guards and curved shape means this watch sits very comfortably on the wrist for its 44mm size. The deep black dial, with a single touch of colour on the unique stop light sweep seconds, is a minimalist delight.
We've pared the watch with an Uncle Seiko Waffle rubber strap, a reproduction of the original Waffle straps these watches were pared with in the early 1970s.
