Miniature carriage clocks were usually highly decorated to match the typical lavish decoration of the boudoir, hence their propensity to be called "boudoir clocks".
With a stunning, patterned yellow guilloché enamel and gilt silver case, this beautiful clock was certainly made to draw attention no matter its diminutive size. The rectangular case sits on four silver bun feet, with the bottom hallmarked 0.935 for silver purity, "argent dore" and the serial number. The hinged rear door is inscribed with the maker name (Schild & Co.), as well as a personalized "JC" from a previous owner. Aside from a repair on the top handle, the clock is in spectacular condition considering its age.
We have serviced the fine 8-day Schild & Co. movement, and it is working eagerly.
The clock measures approximately 42mm x 28mm x 20mm (not including the handle).
