While precise information about the Precista brand is difficult to find, we know that during the 1950s and early 1960s, Precista branded watches were imported by Southern Watch & Clock Supplies Ltd., an English watch materials company based in Kent and then consequently commissioned to be used by British armed forces.
The dressier gold plate chronograph we have in the shop today certainly has a workmanlike design, with a snappy chronograph function, easy-to-read dial conveying a ton of information, and (what would have been at the time) highly luminous hands and hour numerals making it easy to tell time in the dark.
We have pared the watch with a handmade brown racing strap that compliments its fun design and colourful dial.
