About
Produced at the time of Movado and Zenith’s partnership, the Datron is a stunning chronograph powered by the legendary El Primero movement.
The panda dial, inspired by a 1960s racing aesthetic, comes with a creamy off-white colour and matte black registers giving the watch a refined but sporty appearance. Interestingly, Movado modified the movement to feature the date at 12 o’clock, with a black disk and white numerals to match the tachymetre chapter ring and sub-dials.
The 38mm case also features 1960s design cues, but with a touch of 1970s funkiness. It wears larger then its measurements suggest, owing to the unique, not quite tonneau shape.
Overall a very attractive, highly collectible piece of watchmaking history. We’ve paired it with a suede Molequin strap in green.
