Longines has had a long history with horse racing, both supporting and timing equestrian sports for more than a century. Accordingly, their Saint-Imier collection was awarded to winners of the Triple Crown, with owners receiving a pink gold version and the jockeys an all-steel version.

The two-tone model we have in the shop today is a great representation of what makes the Saint-Imier line worthy of champions. With a classic round case with curved lugs, and a traditional dial layout with faceted dauphine hour markers and pencil hands, attention to history is smartly observed.

Inside is the L688.2 movement, a high-end reworking of the Valjoux 7750 with a column wheel instead of the traditional cam lever actuated chronograph. A sapphire aperture on the case back allows one to observe the precise mechanism at work.

Overall Condition:
Case in excellent condition, with minimal marks of wear (a few minor scratches). Sapphire crystal and rear aperture are perfect. Dial is fantastic, lume on hands is strong. Polished bracelet is excellent, with no observable stretch. Fits 7" wrist.
