About
We love the Memovox. That could be considered a broad statement, since there are so many models and variations, from the first American Wrist Alarm to the venerable Polaris. But that variety and rich history is part of what makes Jaeger LeCoultre's alarm watch so alluring.
Reference 3072, nicknamed the "Egg" for its unique oval shaped case, is probably the funkiest Memovox produced by JLC. The wide, sloped case appears unusual in photos, but has a strong, comfortable wrist presence. The blue radiant dial and inner rotating alarm disk are superb, with distinctive round hour markers and original tritium indexes.
The Caliber 916 movement is the first Memovox movement produced with a high speed 28,800 BPH balance, giving increased precision, and noted on the dial with the HPG (high precision guarantee) marker. Only 7731 watches were manufactured with the 916 movement. We have fully serviced it, and preemptively replaced parts that get a lot of wear and tear. As anyone who has ever gotten a repair bill on a Memovox knows, it's a good thing to have the guarantee that it has been serviced by a knowledgable professional familiar with the model.
Overall, this is a remarkable example of JLC engineering and bold aesthetic design. We have pared it with a blue handmade leather strap that accentuates its rich colour.
