Up for sale is a lovely little Jaeger LeCoultre desk clock featuring a clever Recital movement we just finished overhauling in our workshop. This 8-day movement features a number of innovations such as the ability to set a “24 hour” alarm (instead of the typical 12 hours found on most other alarm clocks of the era) and day/night indicator. Another neat feature is that a full wind of the alarm is good for 14 activations of the alarm in 10-second rings.
The clock is cased in a gorgeous gilt and patterned Bakelite case with chiselled column edges and square feet. The dial features a brushed silver finish, Roman numeral hours and Louis XVI style hands (with its original lume). Finally, we have a gilt bezel with studded decoration and a domed acrylic crystal to complete the attractive package.
The clock measures approximately 11cm tall and is 9cm wide and 3cm thick.
