Up for sale is an Imhof miniature officer's clock, in a rare white onyx case. Imhof made a variety of clocks with a similar design, most in a gilt brass case, some with lacquered decoration, others in a green Brazilian onyx case. This particular model, in a brilliant white onyx case with green onyx inlay, is a particularly uncommon version.
The polished gilt bezel, solid handle with decorative finishing, and gilt shantung dial with printed black Roman numerals complete the regal look of the piece. The clock is in excellent condition, with some minor loss of gilt, particularly under the carrying handle, while the onyx case has a small chip on one of the corners. Otherwise it presents beautifully.
We have serviced the high-end Imhof 8-day movement and it works eagerly, keeping good time.
The clock measures approximately 15cm tall, and is 10cm wide and 6cm thick.
