We’re always excited to offer something unique in the shop, like this early 1950s “Big Eye” chronograph from Hydepark. Part of the Emil Leichter Watch Company, which operated on Fifth Avenue in New York from the 1950s on, it’s not uncommon to find Hydepark branded movements in other brands owned by Leichter such as Glycine.
The chrono we have today is in a typical mid-century style, with a busy dial featuring large stylized hour numerals, oversized guilloche patterned registers as well as an outer black minute track, blue telemeter scale and red tachymeter scale.
All of this comes packaged in a classic 35mm chrome case, with round pump pushers, and a sturdy Landeron 48 movement beating inside.
