About
We are excited to share a very special watch today, an original run Hamilton Piping Rock. First produced from 1928 to 1935, the Piping Rock is best know for being awarded to players from the 1928 World Series championship New York Yankees, including Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. While it was re-introduced a couple of times, once in 1948 and then again in the 1990s, the original version remains the grail among collectors.
Aside from its historical significance, this is a stunning watch on the wrist. The solid white gold case contours to the wrist due to its unique flexible lugs, and has a pleasing slim profile owing to the Hamilton 949 movement inside, at the time one of the thinnest movements in production. A black enamel bezel with Roman numeral hours, elegant creamy dial and blued hands complete the fabulous Art Deco aesthetic.
