About:

We are excited to present this sublime 1967 Navitimer in the shop today, a model which probably needs little introduction to any collector.

Originally developed from a collaboration between Breitling and the AOPA (American Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association), the Navitimer allowed its user to perform a number of useful calculations. As outlined in the excellent "Navitimer Story" book, these calculation included:

arithmetic operations, such as multiplications or divisions;

distance unit conversions between kilometres, land miles and nautical miles;

aeronautical calculations such as average speeds, flight times, fuel consumption, or climb and descent rates.

Today's Navitimer is a particularly fantastic example, coming to us in spectacular, untouched condition, with its original serrated pointed notch bezel, twin-jet logo dial, hands and slide rule intact. Even the thick case looks to be unpolished, with sharp lines and original finishing.

Beating inside is the Venus 178, as found in many Breitling chronographs from the era. We have given it a full overhaul, and it runs at COSC spec backed by a 1-year warranty on accurate timekeeping.

We have paired this incredible piece of watchmaking history with a Molequin grained calf strap in chocolate brown to match its wonderful patina.
