About

Founded in New York in 1885, Wittnauer had a historically close relationship with Longines, acting as their official importer for decades before being outright bought by the Swiss company in 1950. Longines-Wittnauer would go on to distribute LeCoultre and Vacheron watches in the North American market.

We love this super stylish chronograph from Wittnauer, probably our favourite from the US company's catalogue, and arguably the brand's most recognizable model. There are a lot of details to love on this striking piece, with a classic 40mm sporty stainless case, round pump pushers and a gorgeous (and unusual) burgundy bezel. The flat black dial features a red regatta timer subdivision in the minute register, and oversize lume-filled hands and lollipop seconds.

We have paired the watch with a Molequin jet black suede strap to compliment the matte dial and accentuate the colourful bezel.

Details

Manual Wind: Valjoux 7733, 17 jewels
We have given the movement a light service, and it works eagerly, keeping good time. Chronograph starts-stops-resets as it should. One year mechanical warranty included.
Case:
40mm (not including crown and pushers) stainless steel case and back
Strap:
Molequin Suede leather strap in jet black, quick release spring bars (MSRP: €99.00)
Overall condition:
Case is strong, shows signs of polish but remains thick. Back with a few tool marks. Burgundy rotating bezel has some wear but retains its bright colouring, stunning in person. Original unsigned crown is correct. New acrylic crystal. Matte black dial is superb, with very minor marks (above the 12 o'clock indicator the most obvious one). Original finely aged tritium indicators and matching hands.
