About

Caliber 52 is probably the most well known IWC pocket watch movement, having been produced for the longest period of time, from 1888 to 1940. The movements were produced with the company's intended design ethos for reliable and practical craftsmanship, and were known for being durable and accurate.

The watch featured today is a lovely example of IWC craftsmanship, with a beautiful guilloche patterned double hunter case, enamel dial with Breguet numerals, and gold spade and whip hands. A gilt finished Caliber 53 is inside, a Savonette (with the winding stem at 3 o’clock) version of the Caliber 52, as robust and accurate today as it was when it left the factory in 1905.

Overall this is a particularly fine and exquisite sample of Schaffhausen horological history, and would make a great addition to any collection.
