We’ve got an extra cool Panerai in the shop today, a PAM 425 that pays homage to the first Panerai prototype created in 1936 to equip commandos in the Italian Navy.
The 47mm cushion case is styled after the original’s Rolex designed Oyster case, with wire lugs, a pronounced screw down crown, and a domed sapphire crystal reminiscent of the plexiglass on the prototype.
The black sandwich dial features a minimalist design with alternating index and dot markers and rose gold hands. It also features a design above the 6 o’clock index honouring the S.L.C., or “Siluro a Lento Corsa”, the slow-speed torpedo on which the commandos rode during their underwater missions, and from which the watch receives its name. “S.L.C.” is also engraved on the flange at 12 o’clock.
The P.3000 in-house Panerai movement features a travel time function with an independent hour set and a substantial 72 hour power reserve on full wind. It’s visible through an exhibition back.
Today's example comes in fantastic, almost mint condition and with all of its original packaging and booklets.

Overall condition:
Case in excellent condition, with very few marks of wear (a couple of minor nicks on bezel). Signed screw-down crown with 1970s Panerai logo screws in smoothly. Sapphire crystal and exhibition back are perfect. Untouched dial with strong lume. overall in almost mint, unworn condition.

All original packaging including inner and two outer boxes plus instruction and certificate booklets (dated 2013).
