About

Dressy and chronograph don't always go hand in hand, but Omega created a classic with this stylish DeVille from 1967. The clean round case and rectangular pushers, combined with an uncluttered two-register dial, produce a watch that looks good for both everyday wear as well as under the cuff for more formal events.

Omega seems to have started printing DeVille on these models towards the end of its lifespan, around 1966, as earlier versions have a plain, "Omega" only dial. Reference 141.009, which succeeded this model, would launch as a purely DeVille branded line.  While usually I am a fan of cleaner dials, in my opinion the DeVille branded versions look better, with the extra text balancing out the dial nicely.

The movement inside, Caliber 320, is essentially the same, famous Caliber 321 found in Speedmasters, but obviously without the hour counter. There is little to be said about the 320 and 321 Caliber that hasn't already been said, but it's safe to say that its outstanding reputation is well earned.

Overall, this is a magnificent, highly collectible piece, and strikes a very elegant profile on the wrist.
