We’re always excited to offer something unique in the shop, like this early 1950s “Big Eye” chronograph from Hydepark. Part of the Emil Leichter Watch Company, which operated on Fifth Avenue in New York from the 1950s on, it’s not uncommon to find Hydepark branded movements in other brands owned by Leichter such as Glycine.

The chrono we have today is in a typical mid-century style, with a busy dial featuring large stylized hour numerals, oversized guilloche patterned registers as well as an outer black minute track, blue telemeter scale and red tachymeter scale.

All of this comes packaged in a classic 35mm chrome case, with round pump pushers, and a sturdy Landeron 48 movement beating inside.

Manual Wind: Landeron 48, 17 jewels
Movement has been fully serviced and keeps accurate time. Chronograph starts with the top pusher, stops and resets smoothly with the bottom pusher. One year mechanical warranty included.

35mm (not including crown and pushers) chrome case and stainless steel back
Strap:
Hirsch Osiris calfskin leather in burgundy (MSRP: $47.50)
Overall condition:
Unpolished chrome case with wear, noticeable scratches throughout, original brushed and polished finish. Steel back with deep scratches. Original unsigned crown and pushers. New acrylic crystal. Original silver dial with heavy patina on the outer scales (making some numbers unreadable) and small marks throughout. Radium hour markers react under UV light inspection while relumed hands are active.
