The tuning fork movement, developed in the 1950s by a Swiss engineer named Max Hetzel, was seen as revolutionary when it debuted in 1960, and the first Accutron models caught early admirers such as Elvis Presley, who owned numerous models. Known for its smooth sweeping seconds hand and the humming produced by the tuning fork, this technology heralded a new age in horology, one looking toward a space-age future in an industry often obsessed with the past.
The Spaceview would become arguably the most well known Accutron model that Bulova produced, but interestingly it originated as a demonstration model to allow Bulova sales staff to show off its new technology. Because of its desirability, conversion pieces are available on the market, non-Spaceview models modified to look like original Spaceviews. While the quality of these conversions vary, and some of the lesser examples use aftermarket parts, today’s watch is a very high quality conversion, an original 2446 reference Accutron that has been converted using only genuine Spaceview parts to look exactly like a factory produced Spaceview.

Overall condition:Stainless case in very good condition, with minor marks of wear. Original Spaceview acrylic crystal is excellent. Original white luminous spear hands hands are fantastic. Overall in very good, near mint condition.
