About

When we previously featured a Wakmann Regate in the shop, we called it perhaps the most wonderfully colourful and busiest of all the vintage regatta timers, and today's model is a great example of this vibrant aesthetic.

As discussed before, there's a lot of information to parse on the dial. The inner gold tachymeter ring has a 15 minutes counter split into colourful 5 minute blocks (used to more helpfully measure the initial 15 minute countdown to a race). The crown at 10:30 rotates the inner chapter ring, which features days of the week in various bright colours, and is used by lining up the correct day to the 1st of the innermost white chapter date ring, thus making it easy to be able to quickly see what date will fall on which day for the entire month.

Because its powered by a Lemania 1341, a version of the Omega 1040 co-produced by Lemania and Omega, and importantly Omega's first ever automatic chronograph movement, it features an unusual arrangement of hands, with central chronograph seconds and minutes. The chrono hands all have splashes of orange, helpful for quickly and efficiently measuring elapsed time.

All of this is housed inside a generous, and modern, 42mm gold plated case. We have paired it with a Hirsch Tiger perforated leather strap to compliment its sporty styling.
