We are happy to present a very interesting Imhof officer's clock in a regal white onyx and brass case. This clock appears to be a late 1960s or 1970s model, and is different compared to the usual onyx clocks Imhof produced mid-century, in that it appears to be composed of different cuts of onyx, where the older ones were fashioned from a single piece. With the sides and top pieces having wooden straight veins compared to the typical marbled pattern of the front and back, the clock has a distinct and unique appearance.
It is also adorned with the usual regal touches found on Imhof models, including brass floral decoration, a solid gilt bezel with stud decoration, and a gilt and chiselled dial with black Roman figures on white enamel cartouches. The case presents nicely and is in fantastic condition, aside from some minute chipping on the corners as is common on these clocks. The thick, convex mineral crystal is perfect.
We have serviced the high-end Imhof 8-day movement and it works eagerly, keeping good time.
The clock measures approximately 19cm tall, and is 17cm wide and 5cm thick. It weighs 2.4 kilograms.
