Imhof 1960s GMT World Time Midsize

We are happy to feature the midsize version of Imhof's three GMT models. This is a "standing" clock like its bigger brother, with a circular base and a domed mineral crystal. Like the other Imhof GMT clocks, it features a South Pole centred azimuthal equidistant map along with various cities corresponding to timezones around the world, printed on an inner rotating timezone disc which rotates once every 12 hours, and a middle 24 hour GMT ring which rotates once every 24 hours.

Unlike the largest GMT model, this clock has a handy feature where the second timezone can be set on the fly: the hands must first be set to midnight (24 hours), then the inner rotating timezone disc can be moved by the adjustment screw on the back of the clock. You would simply choose the correct city on the disc and then align it with the hour hand to set your desired timezone.

The midsize model is the only clock in the set that doesn't come in a gilt colour. The brass case is instead electroplated with a silver finish, although some of it has worn off with age and use. We have serviced the high quality Imhof Caliber 544 movement and it runs very eagerly, keeping good time for the 8-day duration.

The clock measures approximately 12cm (4 1/2") x 10.5cm (6") and is 6.5cm (4") across at the round base.
