I've given the movement a light servicing, which includes any needed work to the movement as well as regulation. The E861 was introduced in 1968, and this particular model dates to that same year.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI have serviced the movement, and it works eagerly, keeping excellent time. The alarm works correctly (and is very satisfying to use.) The original dial has developed an interesting, even patina. Both hands and dial retain their original lume. I have left the case unpolished. The case back shows some scratches, but the front is stunning, almost in mint condition, and retains its original brush finish. The quickset date is snappy and works as intended. I have replaced the acrylic crystal and the back gasket with proper new ones. The case has some minor marks of wear (on the bottom lugs and back in particular) but more importantly retains a clean finish and sharp lines. Interestingly, the case back is missing the engraved Rolex markings, although it has the correct inside markings. The acrylic crystal has been replaced, and the case cleaned and left unpolished. Other than some minor marks of wear it presents quite sharp, with nice, thick and defined lugs and an unexpectedly clean case back (these watches were prone to mishandling when being opened). The fixed bezel has faded slightly to an appealing not-quite \"ghost\" black and has some slight wear to the edge. The brushed inner ring with minute track and bright red 5 minute markers is clean, and the dial similarly so, aside from a few minor marks (hardly visible without magnification or macro photography).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe have overhauled the Valjoux 72 (Zodiac Caliber 69) movement and it comes with an extended one year warranty. It keeps good time and the chronograph works as it should, starting, stopping, and resetting as expected. In particular, the watch is a direct homage to the Boeing 2707, which is featured on the case back. Although the Boeing never went beyond having a prototype made, the SST enjoyed a production run from 1967 to 1971.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere are a lot of unique features on this watch that make it a hit among collectors. First and foremost is that unmistakble bright orange inner rotating bezel, which can be used to track a different time zone. Next we can observe that the watch features a 24 hour dial, meaning the hour hand only travels around once every 24 hours. Interestingly the dial is divided into light and dark sections for daytime or nighttime hours. Another interesting feature on this particular model is the hacking function, which is actually activated by a tiny little wire that springs through the dial when the stem is pulled out, stopping the watch only when the seconds hand reaches the 24 hour mark. This is a useful feature as it can be used to more easily sync the time.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis particular SST is in impeccable condition. The idea was to have the dial rotated 90 degrees, so when the watch was worn on the underside of the wrist, one could more easily read the time with his or her hands on a steering wheel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLike all Chronostops, the \"Driver\" features a simplified hand-wound chronograph movement. The 60-second only stopwatch works with a single pusher. You activate with one press, then press again to stop and hold to read the seconds hand. Releasing the pusher will reset to zero. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis particular example is in fantastic condition. The case has some expected wear (particularly on the case back) but presents nicely. The dial looks to be almost perfect, with its original tritium lume, though the hands have lost some of their original paint (and the seconds hand looks to have been touched up). The acrylic crystal is new. We have replaced the crown with a new, correct Omega replacement and inspected, regulated and tested the movement. It runs eagerly, keeps good time, and the chronograph works as intended. The large stylish gold-plated cushion case is distinctively period appropriate and the watch commands a strong wrist presence. The inner tachymeter has the first 15 minutes of the counter denoted in colourful 5 minute blocks (used to more helpfully measure the initial 15 minute countdown to a yachting race). The rotating inner chapter ring features days of the week in different vibrant colours, and is used by lining up the correct day to the 1st of the separate date chapter ring, thus making it easy to be able to tell quickly what date will fall on which day for the entire month.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Lemania 1341 movement was co-produced by Lemania and Omega (their version is the Caliber 1040). Suffice to say this is an extremely interesting and rather complex movement, being Lemania and Omega's first automatic chronograph movement. Among some of its quirks, it features an unusual arrangement of hands, with 4 central hands including chronograph seconds and minute recorder hands. We have fully serviced the movement and it works eagerly, keeping good time. The semi-pointed crown guards (Semi-PCG) case was also produced for only a brief period in the first half of 1968 before the switch to regular rounded crown guards. The inside of the case back is stamped  “I 68” and “7528”, as all rose dial examples should be.
