Up for sale is a lovely French table clock in a magnificent pink marble case dating to the end of the 19th century. The clock features fine bronze decoration, including a floral motif and fancy centrepiece crest surrounding a patterned bezel, finished with an impressive eagle figure on top, and sits on four circular feet. The enamel dial features Arabic numeral hours and brass maltese hands, with the name ("Van Santen") and location ("Frankfurt") of the retailer.
We have restored the fine, 8-day French movement. The cylinder escapement ticks eagerly, and the clock keeps good time.
The clock measures approximately 22cm tall, is 12cm wide and 8cm thick. It weighs approximately 2.6kg.
